Nondiscrimination Policy

The Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center is operated in accordance and complies with the laws and regulations of the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 504, The Age Discrimination Act of 1975, The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which prohibit discrimination against persons because of their race, color, religion, national origin, disability or handicap, age, sex or ancestry.  This nondiscrimination policy of The Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center applies to any activity conducted by, for, or in The Center affecting care and treatment of residents, employees or the general public.

Privacy & Confidentiality Rights

Personal, financial and medical records are treated confidentially.  However, it is occasionally necessary for the Center to furnish information from the resident’s medical record upon transfer to another health care facility or to an attending physician for adequate treatment, or as required by law or third party payment contractors.  Written consent of the resident or a designated responsible agent acting on his/her behalf shall be required for release of information.
