Zurn Pavilion is home to our residents with dementia, alzheimer’s disease, and memory impairments. This is ideal for people who require a secured area and increased supervision. Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare’s Personal Care home regulations, this special care unit offers licensed personnel on site. The staff is routinely trained and updated on dementia care.
Families are encouraged to be involved with their loved one in this warm and welcoming area. Residents enjoy their meals, snacks, and activities in the common living area and dining room. A specialized activity program that encourages memory support, physical and mental stimulation is offered.
There are 21 rooms in Zurn Pavilion. Most of the rooms are private, single occupancy, but couples or roommates may be accommodated.
“My mother came to live at Sarah Reed 4 years ago. She enjoyed a studio apartment in Reed Terrace, and recently moved to the memory support unit. What I like about Sarah Reed is the continuum of services, integrity of the staff, and the attractiveness of the facility.
Mom feels safe, is well fed, and has a great rapport with the staff. She has friends, activities, and a place to worship without having to leave the building.
I visit 3 times a week and my mom and I enjoy the Silver Sneakers class together. We also play cards and visit. I always feel welcomed and enjoy volunteering when I can.”
